My Overview
Bitget is a widely used cryptocurrency exchange all across the world. I personally love it because you can buy the major coins at many shops; Bitget excels with the altcoin market. There are more than 800 different tokens on the board. Combined with a lot of advanced trading features like copy trading, futures, earn and Web3, and you can see why this is a really popular exchange to use.
Bitget Pros & Cons
Pros
Low trading fees
Copy trading for free
Supports over 800 coins and tokens
Cons
Many trading features are for advanced users (not beginners)
Allow leverage up to 125x, which can be very risky
There are a lot of coins on the market and not all are properly vetted
What are Bitget Fees Like?
Bitget has a flat 0.1% trading fee for both maker and taker trades on the spot market, which is very competitive. These fees can be reduced to 0.08% if the trading fees are paid for in Bitget Token (BGB). Bitget spot market fees are in line with Binance. Futures trading incurs a 0.02% fee for makers and a 0.06% fee for takers, with no discounts.
Bitget charges reasonable withdrawal fees for cryptocurrencies though there are withdrawal minimums. Bitcoin withdrawals incur a 0.0006 BTC fee, which is low compared to many other exchanges. ERC-20 tokens have the highest fees for withdrawals. There are no deposit fees for crypto.
What You Can Buy on Bitget
Bitget supports a wide range of crypto coins and tokens, with a list of 800+ at this time. You have to be careful because when you start to go down the rabbit hole of alts, not all are vetted. Make sure you know what projects/tokens you’re investing in.

Best Features of Bitget
Bitget offers a number of features that are worth considering if you are looking for a new crypto exchange.
Low Trading Fees
Bitget only charges 0.1% on all spot market trades for both makers and takers, which is in line with the industry leader Binance. These fees can be reduced to 0.08% if the fees are paid in Bitget’s BGB token.
Copy Trading
Bitget allows users to copy other traders’ strategies on the platform for free. Users can follow any trader as long as the trader is not at their max number of followers (this is based on their account equity) and begin mirroring their moves and portfolio at no cost. For the traders, they can earn up to 8% of their followers’ profits, giving them incentive to provide good strategies.
Asset Support
Bitget supports a wide range of small market tokens that many other exchanges do not. If you’re looking for small market assets, they have more than 800 of them. They’re also constantly adding to the list.
Who Is Bitget For?
I will often recommend Bitget for anyone who is either looking for an exchange with lots of altcoins or access to more advanced features (more than just buying or selling).
With the altcoins, they have more than 800 at Bitget. What’s even better is they’re constantly looking to add more. You’ll get e-mails or notifications of new tokens that are coming up.
As for the advanced features, I personally like the Earn section where you can earn some interest. Meanwhile, many others will love the leverage (be very careful) and futures markets.
How to Set Up Your Bitget Account
It is easy to set up a Bitget exchange account by following the steps outlined below:
- Navigate to bitget.com or download the mobile app for iOS/Android
- Click “Sign Up” in the upper right of the screen, or app screen
- Choose phone or email setup, then enter the address or number, create a password, and accept the terms of use before clicking “Sign Up”
- Solve the captcha and then enter the code sent to your phone or email
- That’s it! You can start trading on Bitget, but until you verify your identity you have a daily withdrawal limit of 20 BTC equivalent.
If you verify your identity, you can increase that limit to 200 BTC. This can be done by clicking “Verification” on your account information page or the ID verification tab, then:
- Enter your name, choose an ID type, enter the ID number, upload an image of the front, the back, and then a selfie with you holding the ID and a piece of paper that says “Bitget” and the current date.
- Click “Submit” and then wait for Bitget to verify your identity. Once complete you will have increased limits.
Is Bitget Safe?
Yes, Bitget is safe. They have regulatory licenses for Canada, Australia, and the US. They secure user’s assets in segregated hot and cold wallets.
They have received 12 A+ ratings from SSL Labs according to their homepage. We ran the same SSL test for their site and got an A+ too. The exchange has never been hacked either. Users need to enable two-factor authentication before being able to deposit funds onto the exchange.
Final Verdict
I personally use Bitget quite a bit whenever I’m looking for specific altcoins or advanced trading. That’s exactly going to be how I frame the recommendation to you. Exchanges like Kraken are probably viewed as more secure and places like Coinbase might have better customer service, but Bitget is great for altcoins. They’re also great for features like Earn, Futures and Copy trading – which many other exchanges don’t offer. Those are some of the reasons why I would recommend Bitget to a crypto user.
